A two-member delegation led by Dr. Ahmad Al Karim, Director, Maritime Affairs Unit, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) called on University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Professor Abdul Mannan on Wednesday.
They discussed about the setting up of the proposed Indian Ocean Technical and Vocational University in the country.
The proposed university was also discussed in the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) Leaders’ Summit held in Indonesia while Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed her desire to set up the university in Bangladesh.
Ahmad Al Karim requested the UGC Chairman to provide a detail concept paper and outline on the proposed university.
UGC Chairman said that “The proposed university would be a professional university.
