TNN, Motihari :
Narendra Modi on Friday sharpened his attack on both RJD chief Lalu Prasad and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and asked the Election Commission to deploy only central paramilitary forces at all the polling booths in Siwan parliamentary constituency in view of ‘its background’.
Addressing a meeting at Kandhwara wheat fields near Daroga Rai College on Mairwa road, Modi said while Lalu played the politics of violence and jungle raj, Nitish was playing the politics of arrogance. “The politics of arrogance played by the teerandaj (a reference to Nitish Kumar as teer, or arrow, is the symbol of JD (U)) leader has overshadowed the jungle raj politics of Lalu,” Modi said.
Unlike his speech in the neighbouring Saran LS seat recently, where he refrained from attacking Lalu, Modi repeatedly attacked him and reminded the people of jungle raj in Siwan. He alleged a criminal had created terror in Siwan and made it difficult even for policemen to move out on the streets after 6pm because he enjoyed the patronage of Lalu, a reference to now jailed don Mohd Shahabuddin. He said Bihar was destroyed … due to the jungle raj of Lalu and now due to the politics of arrogance played by the ‘teerandaj’ leader.
