Railways Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujan said initiative has been taken to modernize and reshuffle the rail management, ending all kinds of mismanagement and irregularities in the sector.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina emphasized on building an integrated communication system, including rail, water and air ways, reducing dependency on the highways. We are working to bring back good days of the rail,” he said.
Sujan came up with the remarks on Thursday while addressing the prize giving ceremony of annual sports and cultural competitions at Railway Government High School in the city’s Shajahanpur area.
The minister urged all concerned to work together for development of the railways.
About the school, he said the existing problems will be solved gradually.
Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Social Welfare Ministry Rashed Khan Menon and Bangladesh Railway (BR) Director General Qazi Md Rafiqul Alam were present on the occasion, among others.
