The two-day “Modern Jewellers” Falguni Cup Golf Tournament-2016” ended through prize-giving ceremony held at Rangpur Cantonment Saturday night.
Sixty members of Rangpur Golf Club participated in the male, female and junior groups of the two-day (March 10-11) tournament sponsored by renowned ornament trading organisation ‘Modern Jewellers’ of Rangpur divisional city, a press release said.
Rangpur Area Commander, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 66 Infantry Division and President of Rangpur Golf Club Major General Md Masud Razzaque attended the inaugural and concluding ceremonies as the chief guest. The final rounds of the tournament were held at the Golf Ground of Rangpur Cantonment on Friday followed by the prize-giving ceremony at night.
In the Male Group, golfer Brigadier General Amin Akbar secured the first position while Major General Md. Masud Razzaque won award for becoming the best gross.
Golfer Colonel Zulfiqar Ali became the runner up while Brigadier General Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah won award for becoming the second best gross and Golfer Nafi wa sawaredd for becoming the third best gross.
Golfer Major Ashrafuzzman became the second runner up while Brigadier General AKM Shewfaul Kabir won the ‘conventional on’ award.
Golfer Lietenant Colonel Shah Zulfiqar Ali won award for making the longest drive while Brigadier General AKM Shamsuddin won the maxim par award. In Female Group, Nasrine Jahan Bobby became the winner while Miss Sumaiya Haque Subah secured the first position in Junior Female Group.
Major General Masud Razzaque distributed prizes among the winners in a colourful ceremony followed by a colourful cultural function at the same venue where music, songs and dances were presented by local artists.
Proprietor of Modern Jewllers Enamul Haque Sohel, military officials, officials of Rangpur Golf Club and participating golfers attended the concluding ceremony.
