The two-day “Modern Jewellers Cup Golf Tournament-2018” ended last night through a colourful closing ceremony on Rangpur Golf and Country Club (RGCC) ground in the outskirts of the city.
Over 100 contestants of different Golf Clubs from across the country participated in the male, female, junior and sub-junior groups of the tournament sponsored by Modern Jewelers of the city, a press release said.
In the Male Group, golfer Brigadier General Mahbub Sarwar secured the first position while golfer Major General Md Masud Razzaque won the best gross award.
Golfer Brigadier General Md Amin Akbar became the runner up while golfer Major Ashraf-1 won the second best gross award.
Golfer Major Asharf-2 became the second runner up while golfer Dr Zabed Akhter won the third best gross award.
Golfer Major Muhit won the maximum par award while golfer Major Mainul won the longest drive award.
Golfer Brigadier General Shams Alauddin Ahmed won the nearest to pin award while golfer Lieutenant Colonel Mamun got the minimum putting award.
In the Female Group, golfer Arina Shahnewaz became the winner while golfer Subah was awarded for becoming the best gross and golfer Nasrine Haque Boby won the runner up award.
Sadat secured the first position while Midhula became the runner up and Nisa became the second runner up in the Junior Group.
In Sub-Junior Group, Elhan secured the first position, Saiba and Rahel became the runner up and second runner up respectively.
Rangpur Area Commander, GOC of 66 Infantry Division and President of RGCC Major General Md Masud Razzaque distributed prizes among the winners in the concluding ceremony as the chief guest.
Proprietor of the Modern Jewelers Enamul Haque Sohel, RGCC officials, participating golfers and other invited guests were present.
