Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Saturday predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes over the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9 am on Saturday.
Moderately heavy to heavy falls are likely to occur at some places in the country, it said.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at many places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions, said a met office bulletin issued on Saturday morning, reports BSS.
Day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country.
Mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Dhaka, Tangail, Rajshahi, Bogura, Sirajgong, Netrokona, Srimangal and Sylhet and it may abate from some places.
The highest temperature on Friday was recorded 37.2 degrees Celsius in Sylhet of Sylhet division, while Saturday’s minimum temperature was 24.7 degrees Celsius in Srimangal of Sylhet division.
Country’s maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6:00am on Saturday was recorded by 62 millimeters (mm) at Feni in Chattogram division.
