Asma Pathan Rumpa is a model, actress, anchor and social worker at a time. But she always feels comfortable to introduce herself
as an actress. Now she wants to establish herself as an actress. As a model, she first performed in a TV commercial of an insect killer of an organisation 20 years ago. Later, she came into limelight to perform as model in many TVCs including Veem- Jhokjhok e Chokchok e, Lipton (Tumi na thakle sokalta eto misti hotona), D5 Toothpaste, Radhuni’s various TVCs. During performing as a model, Rumpa also took a job for some days. After passing few days, she
decided not to continue the job because she felt comfortable to do acting and modelling. For this
reason, she has concentrated to acting now. Rumpa first acted in a drama titled ‘Char Deyaler Fad’ directed by late actress Tazin Ahmed. Basically after getting inspiration from Tazin Ahmed and then her husband director Ezaz Munna, Rumpa agreed to
act in that drama. Then she acted in many dramas. Now Rumpa is
acting in ZEE5’s serial E Emon Porichoy, Al Hazen’s serial
Prem Chokkor, Ruman Runi’s serial
Five Star Mess and Sajib
Mahmud’s Hoichoi Dotcom.
Meanwhile, Rumpa is regularly performing as a model in different TVCs now. Since last two decades, she performed in 100 TVCs. According to her, in her long time TVC career, she did not get the scope to share the screen with popular TV model Noble. Rumpa has no objection in this regard because they worked together in an organisation for some days.
While talking about her present career, Rumpa said, “Now I am giving more time to acting. In fact, I always feel comfortable to
introduce myself as an actress. Though I couldn’t get the scope
to act in silver screen but if I like story and character then I have interest to work in big screen. Everybody prays for me.”
Rumpa is daughter of Azmal Hossain Pathan and Monwara Patha. She is the second number among three sisters and one brother. After completing SSC and HSC, Rumpa completed her graduation from East West University.
