UNB, Cox’s Bazar :
Police arrested a female model with 200 pieces of contraband Yaba pills from Cox’s Bazar Airport on Wednesday afternoon.
The arrestee was identified as Shapna Akhter Kanta, 24, Rem show model star and short film producer and daughter of Mahmud Hasan of Nayapara in Narayanganj district.
Inspector Abdul Malek of Department of Narcotic Control (DNC) in Cox’s Bazar, said being informed form the airport authority, police arrested private aircraft passenger Kanta from the airport along with the Yaba pills.
On interrogation, she confessed that she was carrying Yaba pills with her bag. She is student of Mohammadpur Girl College in the capital and works as a model and actress linked with different organisations.
She came to Cox’s Bazar with her boyfriend Sujon and stayed overnight in a hotel here, the officer added.
Talking to UNB, Kanta said boyfriend Sujon gave her the Yaba pills.
