The government is going to set up a Mobile Training Lab for imparting ICT training to some 50,000 women across the country for their self-employment, said State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak on Tuesday.
“This modern training lab will be set up in six buses which will travel across the country and provide training to educated women,” he told a ‘Meet-the-Press’ programme organised at the Bangladesh Computer Council marking the two years of the present government in office.
Palak said the training programme would be run jointly by ICT Division, mobile phone operator Robi and Chinese smartphone brand Huawei.
The State Minister also said the government has taken an initiative to digitise the country’s 200-year-old traditional judiciary. “The Digitalisation of Bangladesh Judiciary project will be implemented by 2018,” he said.
He also said there will be no backlog of cases as well as people’s sufferings once the project is implemented.
“At present, various kinds of software are being used to resolve many problems and run online-based activities in government offices. As a result, their information and data are not interoperable,” he said.
Palak also said the ICT Division will set up the ‘National Enterprise Architecture’ for ensuring easy access to information and data in the government offices for others.
At the programme, the State Minister highlighted various successes of his division in the last two years.
