Mobile Court fines for not wearing mask in Sylhet

In Bandarbazar area of Sylhet city, fines have been collected through a mobile court for not wearing a mask and not following hygiene rules. In addition to collecting fines, the administration distributed masks and advised everyone to wear masks to create awareness.
During the mobile court operation on Tuesday afternoon, penalty in take was collected under Section 16 of the Penal Code 160, Section 6 (a) of the Environmental Protection Act 1995. At the time, three executive magistrates were conducting mobile courts at three places in the Sylhet deputy commissioner’s office and Bandar Bazar area, said executive magistrate Jasmine Akhter, who was conducting a mobile court operation at the deputy commissioner’s office.
 He said a fine of Rs 100 or more is being levied for not wearing a mask and not following health rules.
Masks have been distributed by the district administration for public awareness. He also said that the operation will continue. According to mobile court sources, the government is conducting this campaign to ensure that everyone wears a mask when they go out of the house.
