Mobile court led by Manisha Ahmed, administrative magistrate of district administration have operated drives on Monday noon and afternoon at Rupatali and Hemayetuddin Road areas of the city fined five business enterprises total Tk 17 thousand.
The fined business enterprises were Haoladar Restaurant Tk. 5000, two meat shop fined total Tk. 5000 at kitchen market and a fruit trader Tk. 1000 at Rupatali area of the city at noon.
In afternoon the court fined Hotel Al Jamiya of Hemayetuddin Road Tk.6000. The actions were taken for violating consumer rights act and health standard, selling date expired products, said Syed Enamul Huq, sanitary inspector of Barishal City Corporation, who accompanied the court.
BSS from Noakhali adds: A mobile court here on Monday fined one meat trader and two semai producing factories as anti-adulteration drive is being launched during the month of Raman. The mobile court, conducted by executive magistrate Md Rugul Amin, fined Taka 4,000 from a meat trader, Taka 50,000 from a semai producing factory and Taka 20,000 from another semai producing factory at Begumganj upazila. Ruhul Amin said the anti-adulteration drive will be continued until prices of food and other commodities are ensured besides maintaining good quality of foodstuffs.
