Mobile court in Chittagong convicted 8 hoarders and traders in the Reazuddin Bazar on Friday with penalty of cash and jail terms for alleged accused in price hiking of the essential commodities on first of day of holy Ramadan . Two hoarders and one vegetable seller fined with Tk.45 thousand and others 5 vegetable and grocery venders given with jail term of different periods. Deputy commissioner of Chittagong and District Magistrate Mezbahuddin and the Executive Magistrate Ashraful Alam led the mobile court on Friday in Reazuddin Bazar in the city.
During the drive, three stockiest and vegetable venders warned for not repeating the same offense of price hike and fined with Tk.15 thousand each . The other five venders were given jail term for their ill behave and maximum profit making aim. DC Chittagong told the media that this type of mobile court will be deployed in the city till end of Ramadan.
The convicted traders those will suffer jail terms are – Md.Jony with 15 days, Aminur with 7 days, Ratan 7 days , Rafiq 7 days and Atahar 7 days .
