A mobile court of Chittagong District Administration (CDA) on Monday convicted four human traffickers for deceiving people by making fake visas.
CDA executive magistrate Tahmilur Rahman fined Ashrafur Rahman,( 25) Monir Forazi,(35)Harun Sikdar, (38) and Abdul Halim,( 41) Taka one lakh each. The court also awarded them with imprisonments for different terms on the same ground. They were fined as per the Overseas Employment and Migrant Welfare Act, 2013 for deceiving people in name of sending them abroad, the executive magistrate said. They were arrested from Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport on Sunday night when they were locked in an altercation with these fortune seekers at the airport, sources said.
