Mobile application ‘Fish Gari’ has been launched for the first time in the country to achieve the development in fish sector by increasing market management.
Muhammad Yamin Chowdhury, Secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, presided over a ceremony held at ministry’s conference room on ‘feed the future Bangladesh aquaculture and nutrition activity’ project implemented by World Fish with the USAID fund.
Appreciating the initiative, he said, the addition of fish Gari in the fisheries sector would play a significant role. This mobile application will make a groundbreaking contribution in fish farming, transportation and other fields, he added.
“Through the fish Gari application, farmers will be able to transport fish at low cost. This will benefit the farmers and other stakeholders in the field of fisheries and will save time and money in fish transportation,” Muha-mmad Yamin Chowdhury said.
They discussed the field level activities and various aspects of the project.
SM Ferdous Alam, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, and Mahbubul Haque, Director General, Department of Fisheries among others were present at the meeting.
