Dr M Sam Mannan, Regents Professor and Director, Mary Kay O’Connor Process Safety Center (MKOPSC) of Texas A&M University and a world-renowned safety expert, introduced the “MOKPSC-Dhaka”, an extension of MKOPSC in USA, in Gulshan, Dhaka recently to promote safety in BD industries.
MKOPSC-Dhaka’s mission is to promote safety as second nature in industry in Bangladesh and in the region to prevent future accidents.
In keeping with the global vision set by MKOPSC-USA, MKOPSC-Dhaka will work as a regional leader in safety through Education, Research and Service. Operating under the direct supervision of MKOPSC-USA and drawing on its deep expertise and resources, MKOPSC-Dhaka will work in the prevention and minimization of losses in the industrial sector, particularly the textile and Ready Made Garments (RMG) sector.
