The three-day “Gemcon Cup Golf Tournament-2018” ended here on Saturday through a colourful ceremony on Rangpur Golf and Country Club (RGCC) ground.
Over 100 contestants of different Golf Clubs from across the country participated in the male, female, junior and sub-junior groups of the tournament, a press release said.
The MK Traders, a business institution that supplies medical and surgical goods to the northern Bangladesh, sponsored the tournament organised by RGCC on its ground on the Ghaghot riverbank in the city, said a press release.
In the Male Group, golfer Major General Md Masud Razzaque secured the first position while golfer Brigadier General Shams Alauddin Ahmed and golfer Dr Zabed Akhter jointly won the best gross award.
Golfer Lieutenant Colonel Shamim became the runner up, golfer Major Muhit became the second runner up and golfer Brigadier General Md Mahbub Sarwar won the third best gross award.
Golfer Professor Mamun won the maximum par award while golfer Monir got the ‘conventional on’ award.
Golfer Major Matiul won the longest drive award while golfer Brigadier General Md Amin Akbar got the maximum par award.
In the Female Group, golfer Arina Shahnewaz became the winner while golfer Subah was awarded for becoming the best gross and golfer Mrs Nasrine Haque Boby won the runner up ward.
Sadat secured the first position while Waseka became the runner up in Junior Group.
In Sub-Junior Group, Saba secured the first position and Elhan became the runner up.
Rangpur Area Commander, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 66 Infantry Division and President of RGCC Major General Md Masud Razzaque distributed prizes among the winners in the concluding ceremony as the chief guest.
Owner of the MK Traders Manjur Ahmed Azad, RGCC officials, participating golfers and other invited guests were present.
