Omera Fuels Limited (OFL), a sister concern of MJL Bangladesh Limited, has set up a state-of-the-art tank terminal with a storage capacity of 70,000 tonnes of fuel, says a press release.
The terminal is located at Guptakhal, East Patenga, Chittagong over 6.175 acres of land, adjacent to the Lube Oil Blending Plant (LOBP) of MJL Bangladesh Limited.
Tankage will ensure availability of required HSFO to power plants and strengthen security of supply in the country.
This is the first and only tank terminal in Bangladesh whose design and construction was certified by “Germanischer Lloyd SE”, a leading international certification body.
OFL has invested around Tk 1 billion to set up the fully automated tank terminal, first of its kind in Bangladesh.
Nasrul Hamid, State Minister for Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources inaugurated the terminal on Friday.
Md Abu Bakar Siddique, Secretary, Energy and Mineral Resources Division, Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources and Dr. Md. Mozammel Haque Khan, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Shamsul Haque Chowdhury, local lawmaker and Chairman Omera Fuels Limited also attended the programme.
Azam J Chowdhury, Chairman, East Coast Group spoke on the occasion. Mosleuddin, Additional Secretary, Director Operation and Planning, BPC, Nasimuddin Chowdhury, Additional Secretary, Energy and Mineral Resources Division were also present.
