Mizanur Rahman, a naik of the BGB who was shot dead by Myanmar border forces, has been laid to rest at his village home in Debidwar upazila of Comilla on Tuesday afternoon.
He was buried at Bholanagar village at around 3:00pm in state honour after his second namaz-e-janaza there.
The body of Naik Mizanur Rahman was flown to Comilla from Bandarban by
a helicopter at around 1:50pm. Earlier on the day, his first namaj-e-janaza was held at around 9am at Naikhangchhari battalion-31 headquarters in Bandarban, said BGB Cox’s Bazar Sector Commander Col Khandakar Farid Hasan.
High officials of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and district administration joined the janaza.
Myanmar Border Guard Police (BGP) shot Mizanur on Wednesday and took away him intruding Bangladesh territory. The BGP returned the body of Mizanur to the officials of BGB at Panchhari in Naikhangchhari on Saturday afternoon amid high tension on the border and diplomatic manoeuvres.
