Bangladesh open chess team returned to the winning streak as they beat San Marino by 4-0 points in the open section 7th round games of the 41st World Chess Olympiad now being held in Tromso, Norway.
In the 7th round open section games held on Friday, GM Ziaur Rahman beat Righi Ezio, GM Enamul Hossain beat Cecchetti Roberto, IM Minhazuddin Ahmed Sagar beat Maccapani Massimiliano and GM Niaz Murshed beat Grassi Enrico of San Marino.
Bangladesh open team bagged 7 match points and 15.5 game points after the 7th round matches.
In the women section, Bangladesh women’s team lost to Moldova by 2.5-1.5 points.
In the 7th round games, WIM Shamima Akter Liza beat WIM Baciu Diana, WFM Sharmin Sultana Shirin split points with Gitu Paula Alexandra, WFM Nazrana Khan Eva lost to IM Petrenko Svetlana and WIM Rani Hamid lost to Hincu Olga.
Bangladesh women’s team earned 6 match points and 13.5 game points out seven matches.
