Father in-law of former SP Babul Akhtar has paid a visit to CMP’s additional deputy commissioner Md.Kamruzzaman , who is the IO of the case over his daughter’s murder . A resident of Dhaka’s Banasree, Mosharraf Hossain met the IO, Md Kamruzzaman, on Thursday around 10am.
The officer confirmed the media that Mosharraf came to discuss the case.Babul Akter, who was recently released from duty, spoke with the IO on Dec 15 over the case, sources said.
He is currently employed at a private hospital in Dhaka.His wife Mahmuda Aktar Mitu was stabbed and shot in broad daylight on June 5 at OR Nizam Road in Chittagong.The murder took place a few days after Babul was transferred to Dhaka from Chittagong following a promotion.Babul was appointed as the additional deputy commissioner of Chittagong police’s DB until the promotion.
He started a case at Panchlaish Police Station following the murder and returned to Dhaka with his two children.
Rumours started swirling after Babul Aktar was taken to DB headquarters from his in-law’s place in Dhaka on Jun 24 and ‘interrogated’ for 14 hours.
Seven arrests have been made so far over the murder while two more suspects were killed in an encounter, claim police , a online news portal sources said.
