The Asian University for Women (AUW) received scholarship sponsorship from Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC). With this donation, AUW can continue to expand its efforts to provide scholarships for deserving women across Asia and the Middle East.
AUW is an independent, international liberal arts and sciences university in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Founded in 2008, the University exists solely to educate and empower the next generation of women leaders in Asia and the Middle East. Women from over 20 countries attend AUW, representing a wide diversity of ethnicities and religions-however, all are committed to using their education as force for good.
This sponsorship was funded through FUSOKids, Mitsubishi Fuso’s social responsibility program. The FUSOKids vision is to impact the youth in communities around the globe, helping them to reach their full potential. As a leader in the commercial vehicles industry with a worldwide production and sales network, Mitsubishi Fuso is committed to contributing back to societies by which it is supported -not only through its operations and business practices, but through sponsorships, disaster relief, and donation initiatives.
The success of AUW is supported by the relationships with corporate partners and the private sector’s commitment to educating women. MFTBC’s sponsorship will undoubtedly create a positive ripple effect through the communities that will be served by the young leaders whose education it will support. In addition to cultivating service-oriented leaders, AUW exists as a space where young women can be bold in their passions and break through the stereotypes with which they have grown up.
