Mithun, Gibson test negative for coronavirus

Player of Bangladesh Cricket team Mohammad Mithun and Pace Bowling Coach of Bangladesh Ottis Gibson have tested negative for coronavirus. The samples of Mithun and Gibson were given on Wednesday and the report was got on Thursday.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) was worried after opener Saif Hassan and trainer Nick Lee were tested positive after they underwent for Covid-19 test ahead of the Sri Lanka tour. Both of them have taken isolation before they will undergo for coronavirus test again.
However, apart Saif Hasan and Nick Lee, no one became positive as the BCB collected the samples of 18 cricketers and seven support staff to test in the last three days.
The BCB however will announce Bangladesh National Cricket team very soon and then a short conditioning camp for the players of Bangladesh National Cricket team will be set up at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur.
The number of the players of the national team this time may be 22, according to the Chief Selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu. The main practice camp will be held in Sri Lanka. Bangladesh National Cricket team will play some practice matches against High Performance (HP) team in Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh Cricket team will leave the city for Sri Lanka in the last week of September. Bangladesh team will play a three-match Test series against the islanders in Sri Lanka from the last week of October.
The itinerary of the three-match Test series between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka has not yet released.
