Only this year, it came to the fore that director Srijit Mukherji is in a ‘happy space’ with Bangladeshi actress and social worker Rafiath Rashid Mithila. And now as rumours of an impending wedding gather steam, Mithila found herself in the eye of a storm in Bangladesh. After her intimate pictures with Bangladeshi director Iftekhar Ahmed Fahmi went viral, Srijit too reacted strongly. Incidentally, Iftekhar is a director and writer, known for House Full (2008), To Be Continued… (2017) and Made in Bangladesh (2007).
Speaking about the trauma that Mithila is going through, he said, “It is a criminal act and a gross violation of privacy. Whoever has done it needs to be put behind bars. The way Mithila has handled the situation is exemplary. I think her statement on Facebook is brilliant and to the point. It makes me all the more proud of her.”
