The body of a youth, who went missing from Bewna village in Hakimpur upazila of the district on December 27, was found in a pond at the village on Sunday.
The deceased Mohammad Ibrahim, 20, son of late Shahad Ali of Chandipur village of the upazila, was an auto-rickshaw driver.
Victim’s mother Mobina Begum said, Ibrahim went out of his house on December 27 and remained missing since then.
On Sunday morning, locals spotted Ibrahim’s throat slit body floating in the pond and informed the police.
Being informed, police went to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
