Another businessman from Narayanganj’s Bandar area has gone missing with Tk 400,000, his family says.
The family fears that he has been abducted.
Md Amanullah, 35, a cloth trader of Minarbari area under Bandar Police Station came out from his home at 6am on Monday for Gazipur and remained missing since then, his elder brother Moktar Hossain said.
He added: My brother had not reached the place in Gazipur where he was headed to make purchases for his business and his phone also went off since 9am.
Amanullah used to buy clothes from Gazipur and sell it in Narayanganj, added Moktar Hossain.
On Monday afternoon the man, whom Amanullah was supposed to meet in Gazipur, came to Narayanganj business house of the victim to collect the money. Being surprised, employees at Aman’s factory informed police about the incident.
Moktar said their younger brother, Amir Hossain, had received an anonymous phone call around 2pm, advising him to look for Amanullah in Tongi. Accordingly, they led an extensive search at the area but failed to trace his brother.
Admitting the matter, officer in-charge (OC) of Bandar Police Station Akhter Morshed said police were investigating the disappearance case.
A general diary was filed at Bandar Police Station at night in this connection, he added.
Earlier, on Thursday night a businessman, Saiful Islam, was kidnapped from Sanarpar Bus Stand area when he was returning home from his business house.
The gang members left Saiful with his hands and legs tied at in front of national memorial at Savar at around 11:00pm on Friday.
