District Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) President Moshiour Rahman Rony, who reportedly went missing from the capital on Saturday night, was arrested along with arms from Fatullah area here early Monday, claim police.
Tipped off, a team of police arrested Rony along with a foreign pistol and
three bullets from Dapa in the early hours, said Shah Mohammad Manjur Quader, officer-in-charge of Fatullah Model Police Station.
Earlier on Sunday, Rony’s brother Mohibur Rahman Rana claimed that the Detective Branch of police picked the JCD leader up from Badda in the capital around 11:30pm on Saturday.
He had said an unidentified person called him over his phone on Saturday night when he told him that a group of 8-9 people identifying them as detectives picked Roni up in a black microbus.
Since then, his mobile phone was found switched off.
Earlier, Rony gave a Facebook post on September 10 challenging Awami League MP Shamim Osman to take to the street without using the administration and see what happens next.
