Monirampur police on Monday night recovered the body of Nazrul Islam, 52 of Siddipasha village under Abhaynagar uapazila in Jessore. The man had been going missing since July 14, police and relatives of the victim said.
Enamul Haque, officer in-charge, Monirampur police station told that being informed by the locals, the police recovered the decomposed body of Nazrul Islam from the River Mukteswari at Gabukhali at around 8 pm.
Earlier, on July 27, Rizvi Parvez, son of the victim, filed a case with Abahaynagar police station against Mostaq, his wife Anjumanara Begum of Laukunda village and Tasir, Nasir, Ali Hafez and Israil Hossain of Gabukhali village, all under Monirampur for abducting and disappearing his father.
On information, the Monirampur station recovered the decomposed body wrapped in sack from the river on Monday night.
Relative and the police said the man was strangled after mugging a good amount of money.
