A housewife who had been missing since Saturday night, found dead near a fish enclosure owned by Mukunda Sarker at Kuchlia village under Monirampur upazia. The body was recovered by the police on Monday noon, said Motiar Rahman, officer-in-charge (investigation) of the police station.
The dead was identified as Debi Tikedar, wife of Pijush Tikedar of Kultia village under Monirampur police station.
Locals and the police said the body bore marks of tortures in several places. She could be killed after rape.
The body was sent to Jashore General Hospital for post mortem examination. No case was lodged and none was arrested.
