Madaripur Correspondent :
Almost eleven months into the disappearance of a schoolgirl from Madaripur, her decomposed body was recovered from a septic tank of East Bottola area under Baligram upazila of the district on Saturday night, Detective Branch of police said.
The victim was identified as Murshida Akhter (17), daughter of Chan Mia, hailing from Kalkini upazila, our correspondent said.
According to the case statement, Murshida went
missing 11 months ago after she left the house with her neighbour Shahabuddin Akan (25), to go to a doctor.
Her parents then filed a general diary with Dasa Police Station over the matter. As the girl remained missing for long and they could not locate her, the victim’s mother Mahinur Begum filed an abduction case on December 18 last year with the police station accusing five persons including Shahabuddin.
On December 31, the prime accused Shahabuddin surrendered before a court and on Saturday a team of DB recovered the body from a septic tank of the accused’s house upon his information.
Police sent the body to Sadar hospital for DNA test, said the DB official.
