Missing Gafargaon college girl found dead

An honors student Fatema Akhter, 22, who went missing after going to college has finally found dead. On Sunday, Fatema left after telling her family members that she was coming from college. She has been missing since then. Later on Sunday evening, the locals found her unconscious near the abandoned house of Burhan Uddin in Khodaboxpur village of Gafargaon upazila. She was later rescued and taken to Gafargaon Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared her dead.
Fatema Akter is the daughter of Hafiz Uddin of Makhal Kaldair village in Niguari union under Pagla police station of Gafargaon upazila. She is an Honors second year student of Social Work Department of Altaf Golandaj Degree College located in Gafargaon Municipal Area.
According to the victim’s family, locals and police sources, Fatema Akhter came to the Gafargaon Upazila Sadar with her family members on Sunday morning. Later, her family members went to the election official’s office to correct the voter ID. And Fatema went missing saying she was going to college.
In the afternoon, the locals found him unconscious next to Burhan Uddin’s abandoned house in Khodaboxpur village. Later, the locals rescued Fatima and took her to the Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared her dead. Gafargaon police recovered the body and sent it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue.
Abdullah, the brother of the deceased, said that Burhan Uddin’s son Miraj had a love affair with my sister. He may have called Fatima. In the afternoon, Miraj called and said that your daughter was at our house and took her away.
However, the girl’s family has confirmed that the slain college student wrote a note before leaving the house. The note is exactly the same:
Be well, all my loved ones be happy. Forgive me if you can. Sorry dad, sorry mom, sorry sister you are so good. I could not be among you. If you can, forgive me. Sorry mom forgive me if you can. I love no one else in the world more than you. I am writing in front of you. I couldn’t look at you. Forgive me. “Goodbye everyone.”
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Gafargaon Police Station Anukul Sarkar said, “First we recovered an unidentified body.” Her identity was later known. The girl’s father Hafiz Uddin has filed a case with the police station. Further legal action will be taken after receiving the autopsy report.
