Missing ex-NSU student found in capital

A former student of North South University, who went missing along with his car and driver from the city on Monday, was found from Bashundhara area in the capital early Thursday.
Police and family members said Junayed Ahmed Akib, 25, son of late Altaf Hossain of Kushumbagh under Khulshi thana of the city went missing from Wasa intersection along with his car driver Mostafa, 30, on his way back home from Agrabad on Monday afternoon.
Their mobile phones were also found switched off after they went missing. Akib, who completed his BBA from the NSU this year, was believed to have been picked up by miscreants. Later, Akib’s brother-in-law SM Manjur filed a general diary (GD) with Khulshi Police Station in this connection.
Even though driver Mostafa was found at Colonel Hat of the port city on Wednesday, Akib remained missing.
Police also found abandoned Akib’s private car at the parking lot of Chittagong Diabetic Hospital in Khulshi area on Wednesday night. The abductors released Akib in Dhaka’s Bashundhara area early in the morning, Chittagong Assistant Commissioner (DB) Kamruzzaman told UNB adding that Akib is now staying in his relative’s house in the capital.
