Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) recovered the body of a teenage boy, who drowned in the Bay of Bengal, from Lambharghat in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar district on Thursday.
The victim was identified as Mohammad Ali, 15. Further details about the victim were not available.
Sources at the BCG headquarters here said the boy drowned in the bay while playing football at the Teknaf Beach on Wednesday.
Being informed, a team from Coast Guard Teknaf station under East Zone launched a rescue operation and recovered the floating body of Mohammad around 7:30am on Thursday, said Lt Hayet Ibne Siddique, media officer of the BCG headquarters.
