The dead body of a boy who was taking bath in the Dharala River at 3pm on last Thursday at Phulbari upazila in Kurigram was recovered after 4 hours later.
Fire Service, police and locals recovered the dead body from the river. The deceased was identified as Rakib (16) son of Saiful Islam of Sukhan Dighi under Lalmonirhat Sadar upazila.
Police and local sources said Rakib and his 9 friends went to Dharala River to take bath at 3pm. At one stage he went to deep water and was missing. He did not know how to swim.
His friends searched him but failed. Hearing the news Police and rescue team of Fire Services searched in the river and recovered the body after 4 hours in the evening. Officer-in-charge (OC) of Phulbari police station Rajib Kumar Roy told that the body was handed over to his relatives in the evening.
