Police rescued a schoolboy allegedly from the house of a local female Awami League leader in the city on Monday, three months after he went missing.
The rescued boy was identified as Asadul Islam, 12, a Class-IV student of Ghugrakathi Government Primary School and son of M Abul Gazi of Kholar-Chalk village in Koyra upazila of the district.
Sub-Inspector of Detective Branch (DB) of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Ibad Ali said miscreants kidnapped Asadul three months ago on his way to school.
