Fire service recovered the body of one missing Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology’s (AUST) student Omar Faroque, who drowned while swimming in a pond at Babuganj upazila in Barishal on Wednesday night.
The victim Omar Faruque Hridoy, 26, is the son of one Shah Alam of Kawnia Housing Estate of Barishal. He was a student of Textile Engineering Department of the university.
Zahid Bin Alam, Officer-in-Charge of Barishal Airport Police Station said that the victim drowned after he started to swim across the Durgasagar pond at Madhabpasha in
Babuganj upazila taking a bet with his friends.
Fire Service and Civil Defence personnel recovered Omar Faruque at 9:00pm on Wednesday after search.
The body was sent to Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital Morgue for autopsy, police said.
