BMA Mahfuz Nabin, an architect who went ‘missing’ four days ago, has been found in Khulna, said his family.
Nabin, 38, was left blindfolded in Khulna’s Khalishpur at around 3am on Wednesday, his wife Jannatul Esha told bdnews24.com.
Nabin was able to identify the location after taking off his blindfold, she said. “He is now at his sister’s place.”
However, Esha could not give any information about who took Nabin to Khulna by microbus and where he had been for the last four days.
“He has marks of injury on his body and is unable to walk,” Esha said.
Nabin, an employee of Sheltech Ltd, left his Bhashantek home for office at Kalabagan on Sunday morning, but did not reach his workplace.
A general diary was filed with Bhashantek Police Station regarding the incident on Monday.
“Nabin’s family informed me that he has been found in Khulna and not in good health. He will be interrogated when applicable,” Sub-Inspector of Bhashantek Police Station Ruhul Amin told bdnews24.com on Thursday.
Esha said, on Sunday Nabin had texted her saying his mobile phone battery was dying on him and he would call her up upon reaching office.
As he did not call and was out of reach by phone, Esha contacted his office only to be told that he was not at work.
Police and RAB had said they had no information of anyone named Nabin under arrest.
Nabin’s phone was traced for the last time at Darussalam, but it is not clear why he would visit the area, SI Ruhul told bdnews24.com on Tuesday.
Some Tk 20,000 was withdrawn from his bank account using his card at a booth at Kachukhet, he said.
Police seized CCTV footage of the ATM booth to check who withdrew the money, Ruhul said.
Earlier, he had said they will investigate any possibility of abduction or links of extremists to the incident.
