Two miscreants namely Babu and Raju of Jhikargachha tried to ‘abduct’ three school going babies who are children of brothers of Jhikargachha upazila unit Awami League, Musa Mahmud at gun point at Dharmatala in Jessore town at around 12:05pm on Sunday. The incident took place while they were returning home by a private vehicle owned by the ruling party leader, Sayeda Sultana, wife of the AL leader at a press conference held at Jessore Press Club held on Sunday afternoon.
The students were said to be the victims are one grader students Tausif-Al- Zarif and Sabib Wasif and nursery student Warisha Afsara, students of Jessore English School and College.
Abul Bashar, officer in-charge, investigation, Kotwali police station told New Nation that they came to the police station with such a complaint. ‘But did not lodge any complaint at that time saying it will be lodged later,’ he added.
In the press conference, Sayeda Sultana claimed that the two miscreants have threatened to kill the babies. She, however, did not know the reason.
