Sirajul Islam Monak (46), a first class contractor of Krishnanagar, an outskirt village of Bagerhat district town (and within Karapara Union Parishad under Bagerhat Sadar Upazila) sustained severe bullet injuries when some unknown miscreants opened gun fire on him in front of his resident at Friday night.
It is learnt from the locals and the police that at the night when the unfortunate contractor was standing just in front of his residence a number of miscreants appeared there by a motor cycle wearing helmets and opened gun fire on him. The first gun fire failed the target.
Then the miscreants opened gun fire more than once and fled away qickly. As a result, he sustained bullet injuries on his right thigh and fell on the ground. Seriously injured contractor was rushed to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital for treatment. But he was advised to go to Khulna for better treatment. Then he was taken to Khulna and was admitted to private Medical College Hospital where he is now going under treatment. a preparation is going to lodge a case with the local PS in this connection.
