Some 180 banana plants belonging to Abdur Rahman, a poor Nasiman driver and son of one late Sadek Ali of village Mulghar under Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district were cut down by some miscreants on Wednesday night.
It is reported that Abdur Rahman has been cultivating banana on a plot of land, adjacent to his residence for long 10 years. The sale proceed of banana was a great support for him to maintain his family. At the night, the owner of the banana garden was absent from his residence. Taking this opportunity the miscreants cut down all the banana plants of the garden. The loss is estimated at Tk.40 thousand. As a result, the owner of the banana garden was thrown into an utter distress.
