A gang of miscreants have copped a freedom fighter when they failed to realize toll from him. The incident took place at Mingram village of Sailkupa upazila in Jhenaidah on Friday night.
Injured freedom fighter Liakat Ali was rushed to Jhenaidah Sadar hospital.
Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sanagshad Sailkupa upazila unit demanded exemplary punishment to the attackers at no delay.
Locals said, a gang of miscreants have been demanding toll to Liakat Ali for past few weeks. To realize the demadd, the miscreants appeared in the house of Liakat Ali at about 11.00 PM on Friday.
As he (Liakat Ali) denied of giving any money, the miscreants chopped him severely leaving him seriously injured. Later the locals rushed him to Jhenaidah Sadar hospital, they said.
Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sanagshad Sailkupa upazila unit commnader Manwar Hossain Malith when contacted said, the sanggshad had expressed i ts concern over the matter and demanded immediate arrest of the attackers to bring them in bokks.
