Miscreants in Begumganj, Noakhali, launched an attack on Shaheed Minar and destroyed garlands and banners on Saturday.
“A group of hoodlums led by Mamun, Nizam, Taslim Uddin Bishu and Masum attacked mourners, who were returning home after paying their respect to the language heroes at the Shaheed Minar situated on the premises of Jana Kalyan High School under Aman Ullahpur union of the upazila at about 12.30 am on February 21.
Two youths were injured in the attack. Later, the attackers ripped off the banners hanged on the Shaheed Minar and destroyed the garlands,” said Md Alamgir, chairman of Aman Ullahpur union.
