Bangladesh Primary Teachers’ Association general secretary Anwar Hossain was injured in an attack by miscreants in Chinispur area of the district town early Monday.
Police said a gang of miscreants numbering 10-12 stormed into Anwar’s residence in the area around 12:30am and stabbed him indiscriminately with sharp weapons, leaving him critically injured.
He was rushed to Narshingdi General Hospital. Later doctors referred him to Dhaka for better treatment.
KM Abul kashem, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, confirmed the incident.
