A group of miscreants attacked a Fishery Palli of Mathiara village under Panchgasia Union of Feni Sadar Upazila on Wednesday (28 October, 2015) injuring minors and pregnant woman along with others.
According to the victims, a local boy namely Iqbal demanded Tk50,000 on the day of Laxmi Puja to the inhabitants of the Hindu palli. But, being refused to pay the amount, Iqbal and his allies with sharp weapons and hockey sticks started mass attack on the people of the house at around 9 PM leaving a good number of people of the Hindu Samprodai injured.
The miscreants, during the attack, severely injured Tuni Rani (20), a pregnant woman for seven months who later gave birth to a dead kid at Feni Sadar Hospital.
Tuni Rani, according to the doctors, is still in a critical condition due to heavy blood letting.
Following a case filed by the victims on Thursday, officer-in-charge (OC) of Feni Model Thana, Mahbub Morshed visited the area and arrested male family members of some of the attackers.
The victims, however, expressed their anger toward the chairman of Panchgasia Union, Anwar Hossain for not taking any measures to save the Hindu community people despite several call over mobile phone during and after the incident.
Among others, Swapon Das (33), Bikash Das (27), Shuk Dev Das (14), Bikash Das (27), Jaharlal Das (47), Alo Rani (30) and Shova Rani Das (35) were severely injured during the attack.
