The High Court (HC) on Monday granted anticipatory bail to BNP leader Mirza Abbas and his wife Afroza Abbas for eight weeks in a corruption case of Tk 21 crore.
The court, however, directed Mirza Abbas and Afroza Abbas to surrender before the trial court after eight weeks in connection with the case.
The High Court Bench of Justice Obaidul Hassan and Justice S M Kuddus Zaman passed the order after hearing a bail petition filed by them.
Anti-Corruption Commission filed the case

Anti-Corruption Commission filed the case
with Shajahanpur Police Station on January 7 against the duo on charge of amassing illegal wealth worth Tk 20.77 crore.
Yesterday, the accused appeared in the High Court Bench for bail.
Advocate Zainul Abedin argued for the petitioners.
ACC lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan told that the Commission is yet to decide whether it will move a petition at Supreme Court against the verdict.
