Mehidy Hasan Miraz will not play for Chattogram Challengers in the ongoing matches of the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket. On Saturday, the match between Chattogram Challengers and Sylhet Sunrisers was held at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. Nayeem Islam took part in the coin-session for Chattogram instead of Miraz. Later, the authority of Chattogram Challengers acknowledged that Miraz has been stepped down from the captaincy of Chattogram Challengers to make him free from under pressure. The authority of Chattogram Challengers also informed that Miraz was out of the captaincy according to the prescription of recently outgoing Coach of Chattogram Challengers Paul Nixon. But Miraz did not take the decision positively. He has decided to leave Chattogram showing the excuse of his mothers illness. Miraz also sent a letter to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). He wrote in that letter that he was not interested to play for Chattogram.
Before starting the BPL Cricket, the authority of Chattogram Challegers were named Mehidy Hasan Miraz as the Captain of Chatogram Challengers. Chattogram Challengers played four matches under his captaincy in BPL Cricket. Chattogram Challengers competed three matches in Dhaka and one match in Chattogram. Chattogram won two matches and tasted defeat in two matches. Mehidy Hasan Miraz performed an all-round performance. The all-rounder of Bangladesh Cricket team scored 70 runs and captured eight wickets.
