‘Magic Boy’ Mahedi Hasan Miraz thinks Bangladesh are fovourites against Afghanistan. According to ICC Ranking, Bangladesh took the 10th spot in the T20I format.
On the other hand, Afghanistan took the eighth position in the T20I format.
The three-match T20I Series between Bangladesh and Afghanistan will be held at Dehradun in India, Bangladesh will take on Afghanistan in the first T20I on June 5, will face Afghanistan in the second T20I on June 7 and will meet Afghanistan in the third T20I on June 9.
Miraz got injury in his shoulder. So, it is uncertain that if he can take part in that series.
On the other hand, Miraz is very much optimistic that he will be fit before the T20I series.
Mehedi said, ” I was worried that if surgery will be needed to recovery from injury. But Physiotherapists of BCB Dr Debashish Chowdhury, Baizid Islam and Marion have been helping me to recover from injury.”
Afghanistan have two specialist spinners. Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman are very effective spinners in T20I format. But Miraz hopes that the experienced spinners of Bangladesh will dominate over the Afghan batsmen. Specially world-class spinner Shakib Al Hasan and experienced Mahmudullah Riyad will play the key role to resist Afghan batsmen.
Miraz said, ” Shakib used to play in Indian Premier League (IPL). Shakib has kept domination in the IPL. Rashid Khan took part in BPL. So, Bangladesh batsmen have idea about the bowlers of Afghanistan. If players of Bangladesh perform according to their ability, I expect we shall not face any problem.”
