Miraz sets most-win record of as captain in U-19 CWC

Bangladesh Under-19 Cricket team captain Mehedi Hasan Miraz achieved another milestone of leading the Young Tigers in nine wins in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup history breaking the previous record of eight wins by Australian cricketer Geoffrey Ross Parker in 28 years back.
Parker led the Australian side as captain for eight wins in the 1988 Youth World Cup while leading the Youth Tigers’ in the world stage for the 2nd time in a row, Miraz won nine games out of 10.
Miraz set the mark with a six-wicket win against Nepal in the first quarterfinal of the 11th ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Friday.
With the win, Bangladesh registered their first-ever semifinal berth in any format of the ICC global cricket.
Earlier, on Tuesday (February 2), Miraz set another milestone of highest 74-wicket haul record leapfrogging Pakistani bowler Imad Wasim’s record of 73 wickets.
