Miraz jumps into 33rd place after Mirpur Test

Mehedi Hasan Miraz rocketed into 33rd position in the ICC Test Bowlers rankings showing magnificent form with a 12-wicket haul by his off-spin attacks for the Tigers maiden Test victory against England.
Miraz captured 12 wickets for 159 runs in the 2nd Test which has given him a lift of 28 positions. His brilliant form guided Bangladesh for a comfortable victory of 108 runs against a major Test playing nation that ended on day 3 in Mirpur on Sunday.
The 19-year-old boy from Khulna, Miraz entered into ICC Test Player Rankings list in the last week after taking seven wickets for 138 on his debut in Chittagong where the home side conceded a narrow 22 runs defeat.
Miraz claimed 19 wickets for 397 runs in the two-match Test series.
Miraz is now Bangladesh’s second highest-ranked Test bowler behind all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan who is in the 15th.
Miraz won the Player of the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2016 award at the same venue eight months ago, returned in the tow-match Tests to be adjudged Player of the Series.
