Right-arm batsman Mehidy Hasan Miraz of Bangladesh cracked his maiden Test century on Thursday. Miraz scored 103 against West Indies in the first Test at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. Miraz played 168 balls and stayed at the crease 224 minutes. Miraz fulfilled his maiden Test century utilizing 160 deliveries hitting 13 boundaries.
The 23-year-old right handed batsman hit his maiden Test century after playing 23 Test matches. Earlier, his highest score was 68 (not out).
Miraz batted Number-8 position. But he proved his capability after scoring a century in his sixth-down position. He fulfilled his century in the 148th over. He reached the 100 runs land-mark in the Jomel Warrican’s fourth delivery.
Miraz guided Bangladesh to pile up 430 runs.
He was the sixth batsman of Bangladesh who struck a century after arrived at the crease in Number-8 or below Number-8 position.
Earlier, Mohammad Rafique, Khaled Mashud Pilot, Mahmudullah Riyad, Abul Hasan Raju and Shohag Gazi were the other batsmen of Bangladesh who reached triple digit figures after arrived at the crease in Number-8 or below Number-8 position.
