Mirana Zaman is a legendary actress who has already passed eight decades of her life. Till now she has been engaged with acting. She is daughter of Syed Bari (residence) of Korotia, Tangail. This living legend actress will turn into 82 today. She has no excitement in this regard rather than she is grateful because everybody still remembers her.
While talking about her birthday Mirana Zaman told this correspondent, “At this stage of age there is nothing to say about my birthday. I got loves from all. Everybody pray for me as I can leave this world properly. It will be my great pleasure to me.”

Mirana Zaman was born on December 25 in 1936 in Tangail. She is daughter of Syed Badruddoza and Mahmuda Khatun. On August 27, 1950 she tied the nuptial knot with Kazi Mohammad Aktaruzzaman. After marriage in 1962, she was enlisted as voice artiste at Betar for play. Her first acted Betar play was Naila Samad written. During that time she also acted in Nilima Ibrahim, Nomita Anwar’s written plays.
In TV play, she first acted in Mustafa Monwar’s direction. Ghorowa was her first acted TV serial. In film, she first worked in hero Rahman’s direction in movie Jaha Bajey Sahnai. She played in role of late Sirajul Islam’s sister. But she came into limelight to play in role of mother in E R Khan’s movie Sontan in 1970. Later she acted in many movies. In Betar, once she was popular to all in role of Shaila Bu in rural awareness creating a programme.
Mirana Zaman last acted in three movies – late Mohammad Hannan’s Shikhondi Kotha, Nasir Uddin Yusuff Bachchu’s Guerilla and Abu Sayeed’s Opekkha.
